Grandad was an inspiration in so many ways. His outlook on life was one of the many things I loved about him and aspire to have as well. Go out there and have great adventures- were the last words he said to me.
Adventures weren’t an uncommon incident when we were together. A few wrong turns in a car with a flashing “code 84” on the dashboard, the time we ended up driving in the opposite direction from home; having an unexpected power cut and trying to stay entertained in the dark… Grandad’s attitude was what made those “bad” situations into adventures I will never forget.
It’s amazing to see how he “walked the talk”: fully trusting God and knowing He is with you in all circumstances. From knowing those truths no obstacle seems hard to overcome as we know Who is with us. Stepping out of your comfort zone, taking those risks and trusting God through the process is the most exciting adventure that Grandad helped me discover throughout his life.
